Cruising Experience

Philippines Explorer 1 was originally built to voyage the high seas of the North Sea providing supplies to oil rigs. She served in the New Zealand Navy (photo above) and was later used as a diving research vessel in Micronesia before being acquired in Australia by us! Having already cruised the whole of South-East Asia with Philippines Explorer 2, with Philippines Explorer 1 this is more than simply a bigger boat; Philippines Explorer 1 is the future of luxury dive and cultural expeditions in the Philippines.

The latest diesel-electric technology, sound-proofing, and gyro stabilisers makes this a liveaboard adventure cruise like no other; comfortable, safe and quiet.

Philippines Explorer 1 was built for those that want to explore further, and enjoy more! Ample space for privacy and relaxation across all areas of the vessel. Gyro stabilisers ensure all on board are guaranteed the ultimate in safety and comfort.

Philippines Explorer 1 has been rebuilt with innovation and sustainability front of mind. This means the latest in diesel-electric propulsion, we run on battery power at night and sound proof walling guarantees all guests enjoy the restful night's sleep they deserve of a luxury cruise. Our itineraries are meticulously designed to provide guests with the very best of the Philippines from snorkeling with humpback whales in the far North, to diving the islands and reefs, to sampling local cuisine, strolling through local markets, and learning more about Filipino history and culture.

Philippines Explorer 1 has 10 cabins, ALL main deck and above (no lower deck cabins).

The spacious bridge-level Premium suite has panoramic views out to sea. All upper deck cabins feature access to their own private balcony. With just 20 guests and 16 crew, spread across 4 decks, you have the ultimate in space, privacy and relaxation.

For divers and non-divers alike, there is a pool with optional swim-current on the back deck for those that still want to maintain fitness levels on longer crossings, or between activities. For those wanting to take life a little more relaxed, we have our own exclusive craft beer brewery on board!
